Cyber Synergy is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer IV to support one of our clients.

Experienced Career Requirements:

  • The Lead Systems Engineer should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Systems Engineering (BS and 11 years of experience, or a Master’s degree and 9 years of experience).
  • A relevant degree, preferably a BS in STEM.
  • At least 6 years as a Systems Engineer Lead with experience in leading, managing, and collaborating with a broad range of organizations, groups, and teams.

About the Position

Are you ready to be part of a cutting-edge, growing Cyber Security project that will make a significant impact on the DOD/Intel community? This exciting role involves performing traditional Systems Engineering and Vulnerability research with a focus on OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) and DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities. The role includes supporting assessments of large-scale weapons systems and other national security operations.

In this Role, You Will:

  • Perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DOD systems, applying an OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) mindset to conduct DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities.
  • Conduct long-term, in-depth vulnerability assessments, leveraging systems engineering principles and knowledge, utilizing available information such as architecture diagrams, build specifications, design documentation, and systems architecture.
  • Perform independent verification and validation of security requirements and capabilities, incorporating systems resiliency and security engineering concepts into acquisition documents (e.g., Performance Work Statements).
  • Evaluate contractor proposals for systems resiliency, security, and cybersecurity considerations.
  • As a technical leader, Senior Systems Engineers will report to you directly. You will ensure their skills are fully utilized and that they exceed technical performance expectations. You will participate in building a strong team with depth in the systems engineering process and how it can be applied in various mission areas.
  • Use your interpersonal skills to develop relationships with customers, gaining additional insights, information, and documentation to improve our ability to achieve our mission.

Required Qualifications:

  • The Lead Systems Engineer should have a minimum of 15 years of Systems Engineering experience (BS and 11 years, or Master’s and 9 years).
  • A relevant degree, preferably a BS in STEM.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a Systems Engineer Lead, with experience leading, managing, and collaborating with a wide range of organizations and teams.
  • An ACTIVE TS/SCI with FSP Polygraph required (within 6 years).
  • Experience with Zero Trust Security.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Sec+, CISSP, CEH, etc.).
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-160.
  • Familiarity with INCOSE-defined life cycle systems engineering processes.
  • Experience with or knowledge of large-scale DOD systems.
