Annual Conference & Meeting Support
Department of Education — National Technical Assistance Center for the Education of Neglected or Delinquent Children and Youth
Challenge
The National Technical Assistance Center for the Education of Neglected or Delinquent Children and Youth's (NDTAC) mission is to improve educational programming nationwide for neglected, delinquent, or at-risk youth who are at risk of not achieving academic success.
Statutory guidance for NDTAC leads its purpose, designates appropriate use of funds, and dictates State reporting requirements. ED requires support to provide States with subject-matter expertise and operational guidance through NDTAC.
Solution
Each year, we tailor the annual conference to cover a yearly theme designed to best address emerging trends in the education of students served under Title I, Part D (TIPD), as well as common challenges that have arisen in monitoring findings and hotline requests. The conference is structured to provide learning sessions (e.g., preconference coordinator orientation; plenary sessions; breakout sessions) with clear learning objectives and collaborative planning sessions.
Learning sessions feature topics aligned with the three content strands of data, compliance, and best practices and include opportunities for peer learning from state coordinators, training workshops, and presentations and panel discussions from prominent SMEs. Collaborative planning sessions feature Results-Based Facilitation to engage small and large working groups in problem-solving to address emerging and high-priority challenges.
The NDTAC Annual meeting consisted of approximately 200 participants spanning over three days.
